Water Supply

Since the creation of Yobe State in August, 1991, the State Government has succeeded in reactivating all existing, but dormant boreholes across the State. In addition, new ones have been drilled all over the State. This government measure, which is a continuing process, will provide the people with portable water supply. In the long run, the state plans to construct Dam at Katorko, about 21 kilometres from the State Capital, along the Damaturu - Biu road. When completed, it is expected that about 250 million litres of water would be conserved annually. In addition to providing industries with their water requirements, the Dam is expected to facilitate irrigation farming and supply of portable water to the State Capital.

Interested investors and/or financers are invited to join in the construction of the Dam.
