  In Yobe State, the Nigerian Telecommunications Company Limited has commissioned her first computerised Digital Telephone System in Damaturu in the year 2002. Hence communication to the other parts of the world has been eased. Other towns like Gashua, Nguru and Potiskum are currently on the analogue network but very soon they will be upgraded to the digital system along with other major towns like Geidam, Buni-Yadi, Damagum and Fika.
