Almost all major towns in Yobe State are fully connected to the National Grid for their electricity and power supply needs. Major towns, such as; Damaturu, Potiskum, Gujba, Nguru, Gashua and Fika are currently on the National Grid. Other smaller towns are fully supplied with electricity by the State Rural Electrification Board (REB). |
|
Plans are currently under way to connect all Local Government Headquarters to the national Grid. Government's objective of ensuring that all parts of the State fully enjoys’ electricity supply from the National Grid is based on the conviction that electricity supply is one of the basic necessities for the development of Small and Medium Scale Industrial Ventures. Considering the availability of electricity supply across the length and breadth of the State, Government is set to actualise its industrialisation dream. The state is willing to enter into agreement with investors and/or financers who are willing to invest in the provision of electricity in rural areas and upgrading of the existing ones. | |
